On January 31st, 2024, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a final rule that increased specific benefit request fees charged by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  During its biennial fee review, USCIS determined the current fees for several forms do not cover the overall cost of adjudicating the service.

Below are some of the new fees effective April 1, 2024.  

  • I-129 – The base fee will remain at $460

  • I-129F – Petition for Alien Fiancée will increase from $535 to $675 (26% change)

  • I -129H –  Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker in a Specialty occupation from $460 to $780

  • I-129 L –  Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker Intra company transfer 460 to 1385

  • I-129O – Petition for O Non-Immigrant Worker of Extraordinary Ability will increase from $460 to $1035 (129% change)

  • I-130 – Petition for an Alien Relative 

    • Online Filing: An increase from $535 to $675 (17% change)

    • Paper Filing: An increase from $575 to $630 (26% change)

  • I-140 – Immigrant Petition for Alien Resident will increase from $700 to $715 (2% increase)

  • I-485 – Application to Register Permanent Residence of Adjust Status will change in the following ways

    • A standard filing and filing with biometrics services will increase from $1,140 to $1,440 (26% change) 

    • A filing for children under 14 filing with at least one parent will increase from $750 to $950 (18% change)

  • N-400 – Application for Naturalization

    • Online Filing with Biometrics: A decrease from $725 to $710 

    • Paper Filing with Biometrics: An increase from $725 to $760 (5% change)
